Paul J. Abraham

CEO

This is the part of a law firm’s website where you’re supposed to read about where the lawyer went to college, where they’ve previously worked, what judges they’ve clerked for, and all kinds of things that only the lawyer’s parents truly care about. And if you really would like to see the prestigious schools Paul has gone to, his growing library of awards and recognitions, and all of those boring credentials, you can still do so by scrolling about halfway down this page. But honestly, we don’t really see how that’s going to help you. You’re not here for him, you’re here for you. So we’d rather talk about the part of Paul’s story that will actually help you.

Paul grew up in a highly entrepreneurial family. He was still a child when his family was fortunate enough to move to the U.S., but beginning in his teenage years he was old enough to participate in the family businesses, and to help in dealing with advisors, including lawyers across multiple practice areas – estate planning, business, litigation, real estate, franchise, immigration, and others.

As he did so, he was shocked as lawyer after lawyer failed to do what they said they would do in the timeframe they promised, billed their time for social chitchat, proved noncommunicative and nonresponsive to calls and emails – to the point of rudeness, or otherwise completely failed to provide even decent client service.

In later years, he looked back and realized that, perhaps worst of all, most of these lawyers did not even attempt to understand the family’s goals. As a result, these lawyers rarely went out of their way to give proactive, relevant advice and guidance on important issues that the family (as with most non-lawyers) did not even know to ask about. Without a genuine attempt to thoroughly understand their clients’ true goals, these lawyers could not advise, guide, or counsel – they were at best acting as mere legal robots answering specific questions, whether or not they were even the right questions.

Paul knew there had to be another way, and he was determined to find it. Seeing how much his own family would have benefited from proper counsel and quality service, he decided to go to law school with the intention of creating a new law firm with a client-centric model. PJI Law became a reality in October 2010, and has since served hundreds upon hundreds of clients according to that vision. Our firm has been designed to ensure constant communication with our clients, reliable responsiveness, ethical billing, and a sincere effort to understand every client’s particular concerns and goals, which allows us to proactively advise them and assist them in achieving their goals whether or not they know to ask the right legal questions.

As our firm grows to provide these elevated services to more clients, Paul, in his role as CEO, makes every effort to ensure that every new member of our team shares the vision, and is wholly invested in the firm’s core values of professionalism, excellence, and integrity. This is no easy task. It is often the case that few to no applicants for a position on our team survive the various tests and requirements necessary to meet the firm’s high standards. The few fantastic candidates who do emerge are told Paul’s story and the firm’s mission, and their offer to join the team is conditional on them fully embracing this mission. This stubborn commitment to the mission has resulted in the creation of the incredible team that the firm has today.
